We know that we all homeschool for different reasons, but one thing we can all agree on is that it is a calling, a refining process, a gift to ourselves and our children that isn't always easy. We believe that parents have the fundamental right and responsibility as the primary teachers of their children. We take care not to infringe upon your freedoms, rights, and creativity, however we also know that outsourcing parts of our children's education can be an awesome, and lifegiving, experience. That's why we take great care in constructing a gentle and effective curriculum that allows each family to make their own decisions about how its used.

Our memberships and courses are designed with middle school learners' unique capacities in mind. We have thoughtfully designed a curriculum that is hands-on, student-centered, and fun! Lessons are short and engaging, and offer middle school students the ability to share their thoughts in a safe and nurturing space. Our curriculum is created so that children can move through at their own pace and on their own time, but also meet with others their own age around the globe for our live classes. Adolescents love to share and they have a lot to say if we give them the room to do so.

All in a nurturing Christian environment. You don’t need to monitor or prep a single thing.
Each month you’ll receive extension activities to explore further if your child is particularly interested in a certain literary movement, literary style or author. The goal is to expose them to lots of small bites of literature so they can pick and choose what they really like if they want to dive in further. Think of it as a buffet.

Dr. Schiermyer holds a BA in education from Adrian College, an MS in Reading and Language Arts from Florida State University and an EdD in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University. She is certified in 1

Founder and educator Mindy Schiermyer has over 20 years of teaching experience in all kinds of different settings. Dr. Schiermyer holds a BA in education from Adrian College, an MS in Reading and Language Arts from Florida State University and an EdD in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University. She is certified in 12 different states. She has been married for 17 years and homeschools her three sons (ages 14, 12 and 6). She loves Jesus, her family, and the beach.
