Each quarter is 8 weeks in length. Class meets weekly for 1 hour There is a one week break between each quarter. Live classes are optional, but you won't get much from the course without attending. The high school class is structured much differently from our middle school offerings and most instruction and discussion take place live. The last two live classes of each quarter will be utilized as office hours except for quarter 4. Most students attend live classes all 8 weeks because they are so enjoyable.

Quarter 1: Beginnings through The Revolution (pre-colonization-late 1700's)
Class Novel: Literature Circles. Your child will read ONE of the following:
Uncle Tom's Cabin, The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano, The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin

Quarter 2: Romanticism through Realism (1820's- early 1900's)

Quarter 3: Realism through Modernism (early 1900's-1950's)

Quarter 3: Global Voices and the Modern World

Class Novel: The Abolition of Man AND Literature Circles. Your student will be reading ONE of the following: Things Fall Apart, Siddhartha, The Alchemist, Metamorphosis, The Stationary Shop

This includes the full year study and is a savings of over $100. This does not include the cost of any books. This includes all live classes, course outlines, discussion questions, and Mrs. Mindy provides written feedback with rubrics on the four papers. She will also grade all of your student's classwork and take attendance and note participation in live classes. She will assign a letter grade at the end of each semester that you can add to your high school transcript.
Initial draft debited upon enrollment. Your account will be charged every three months until the payment cycle concludes. So for instance, if you enroll in May, your account would be debited for $225 in May, August, November and February. This does not include the cost of any books.
